It is a replica Copernicus globe. I have a thing for old world maps and globes.

I sorta like them too. When I was younger I would stare at them a long time thinking what it must be like to live in places on the globe and wonder how cool it would to be king of the bahamas or something. I also found it interesting how different the world looked to people a long time ago and how cool it would be to discover a new place.

It really puts things into perspective. There’s so much of this world that we’ll never see while we’re alive. I couldn’t imagine being an explorer all those years ago, sailing out into the unknown, wondering what they would find and if it would be habitable.
